Das Schein-Geld-System : Wie der Staat unser Geld zerstört (3930039729)



Die Diskussion über die Europäische Währungsunion hat sich in viel zu eng gesteckten Bahnen vollzogen. Europas Bürger haben in der Tat nicht nur die Wahl zwischen einem nationalstaatlichen und einem europastaatlichen Papiergeld. Grundsätzlich steht jedes Gemeinwesen vor der Wahl, ob es überhaupt ein Geld des Staates oder ein Geld des Marktes haben will. Dies ist die Kernaussage von Murray Newton Rothbards Buch, das von der Liberalen Akademie Berlin in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Resch-Verlag nun erstmals in deutscher Sprache herausgegeben wird. Was Rothbard über die Rolle des Staates im Geldwesen sagt, ist überzeugend und ernüchternd. Niemand, der Das Schein-Geld-System gelesen hat, wird über Geld weiterhin so staatsorientiert denken wie zuvor. Für Rothbard lautet die Kernfrage zum Geld nicht, ob die staatliche Geldpolitik besser das Preisniveau oder die Geldmenge stabilisieren sollte. Sie lautet vielmehr, ob es im Geldwesen überhaupt eine Rolle für den Staat gibt. Wer dem Staat das Geld anvertraut, öffnet Tür und Tor für eine totalitäre Kontrolle der Gesellschaft durch jene Interessengruppen, die innerhalb des jeweiligen Staatsapparates den Ton angeben. Die Folgen sind Wirtschafts- und Währungskrisen und der ständige und zum Teil dramatische Preisverfall unserer Währungen. Wie alle Werke des amerikanischen Universalgelehrten ist Das Schein-Geld-System kristallklar in der Gedankenführung. Rothbard konzentriert sich stets auf die Kernfragen und behandelt diese Fragen mit umfassender Kenntnis der einschlägigen Literatur. Sein Werk eignet sich für Wirtschaftswissenschaftler und für Laien, die sich über diese Materie von kompetenter Seite informieren lassen möchten. Das Schein-Geld-System wird durch ein Nachwort von Dr. Jörg Guido Hülsmann ergänzt, der die jüngere Währungsgeschichte aus dem Blickwinkel der "österreichischen Schule" untersucht.
